Bought at Richard's Garden Center.
Planted in pre-existing hole I had dryer tub in (using as fire pit). Amended with sand, worm castings, azomite, and manure. Planted in basin with small berm a bit beyond drip line. Left root flare exposed and filled with mulch for irrigation watering.

Widened the basin and built a new berm to better reflect the new drip line. Filled with fresh mulch from trimming the orchid tree.

Just coming out of winter dormancy.
Was budding out so this was a little late, but pruned it to take out really low branches, branches that would cross, and branches with less than a 45° angle.

After it budded, it put on spring growth real quickly. This is a shot of it now (4-5-19) next to when it was initially planted (8-5-18). Probably around 12' tall now.

This thing is becoming a monster. Going to be very liberal with the pruning once it goes into dormancy. Still wondering why it's not flowering/fruiting though. Need to research.
